Who would have expected a game titled Sheep Stacker would be so amazingly fun?
Sheep Stacker is a wonderful little casual game by Jerrod Putman of Tiny Tim Games. It’s selling in the iTunes app store for only $1.99 and worth every cent of that.
The concept is as simple as it sounds. You try to build a stack of sheep. One swings around above the stack, held by a plunger. When you touch the screen, it falls straight down towards your stack. My favorite part is the squishy wool sound when one’s legs go into the other’s puffball. And yes, they do baa quite often. If you stack too many on one side, the stack will start to tilt. If you drop one crooked, it may knock the top one off. Drop one perfectly, and you’ll get bonus nickles (the game’s way of keeping score and giving bonuses). The nicest part is that there’s no time limit to make the next drop, which keeps the game nice and relaxing.
The game has three modes:
- Classic- Keep stacking until you’ve missed too many sheep.
- Baa-lance- Instead of you controlling the drops, the sheep will fall at random, into a wagon you control by tilting the iPhone left and right. Try to catch each one without un-baa-lancing the stack!
- Speed Stack- Plays like Classic, but you have a set time (1, 2, or 3 minutes) to stack as many sheep as possible.
As disturbing as it may be, stacking sheep may be among the most fun you can possible have on your iPhone! For some reason, based on the title, no one on our crew jumped on this review, so I snatched it up. I’m so glad I did as this has become one of my favorite iPhone games, now. You really can’t go wrong picking up this title, so what are you waiting for? :)

I personally have Totem, which came out before this one on the iDevice. This one seems too similar for me to want to grab it, but I wonder how they compare all the same.
