DS Releases: Week of April 14th, 2009
by Jason EvangelhoHey Portables! It’s time once again to see what DS publishers (namely Atlus this week!) have in store for your treasured time and money. Will you be renting or buying any of these 3? We’ll be reviewing all of em, so stay tuned!
- Dokapon Journey | Atlus: Like a robot picking up a magnet, Atlus boasts this as being easy to pick up, and hard to put down. Dokapon Journey (NOT a port of Dokapon Kingdom but an all new game) blends elements from classic RPG’s with board games, and adds a dollop of friendship-destroying technology. (really!) You can learn more about this one, and the continuing adventures of “Atlus raiding your wallet,” right here.
- The Dark Spire | Atlus: The double-header from Atlus continues, with a hardcore 3D Dungeon RPG that boasts some very obvious nods to pen and paper D&D. The ability to play in true 3D or an 8-bit inspired Wireframe mode adds to the nostalgia. For Dungeon Crawling enthusiasts, this one is pure gold. Check out more details at the official Dark Spire website.
- C.O.R.E | Graffiti Entertainment: From Norway comes this first project from NoWay Studios, an original FPS for the Nintendo DS. As Jason Crane, you’re tasked with exploring a government research facility built around a meteor that crashed into the Mojave Desert 20 years earlier. There may or may not be aliens involved. There WILL be some heavy music, mature themes, and what the developer promises to be liquid smooth graphics and AI. First Person Shooters on the DS are difficult to get right. But we always root for the underdog. Check out the official game website right here.

sorry, but the C.O.R.E is for may.
According to their PR company it ships today. Was there a recent change?
