Speaking for the UK, this is still in the top 40 sales charts for all platforms so it must be selling reasonably here...

So you're saying that most sleeper hits are hardcore games?

And also, by your definition, GTA: CW Would be a hardcore game, as I proved the audience is slim, with sales even slimmer.

Yeah... Call of Duty 4 and Madden are not casual games in the same sense that Wii Fit or Sports is.

I think you might be getting confused on the concept of definitions. Hardcore and Casual have many meanings, even when applied to games. There are many articles around to read more about that. What you might call a casual game may or may not be what someone else does. I think we have to go with the author's intent when reading an article on the internet, rather than our own narrow vision or definition of widely ambiguous terminology.

This was a pretty well thought-out article, but you appear to not understand the difference between hardcore and casual games, at least in the traditional sense. GTA is not a hardcore game. It is a casual game. Hardcore games have small, niche audiences. Casual games have large, burgeoning audiences. For your further education, I'd like to remind you that Call of Duty 4 and Madden are casual games, too.
