Chillingo has quickly become one of the most respected names in iPhone gaming – when they publish a title, you better take notice because they’ve been the publishing force behind some absolute gems on the system, from Sneezies to iDracula to Toki Tori to circuit_strike.one. So when we got alerted to their upcoming game Underground, we had to let you know. Underground is a 2D shmup with 3D graphics featuring graphics and story inspired by graffiti art, developed by kinelco.  The game promises to use the accelerometer and multi-touch controls, with 12 playable levels, over 60 different enemies, and a variety of weapons and powerups. There’s also going to be realtime 3D cut scenes to help flesh out the game’s story, an original hip-hop score by PP3d,  and graffiti art by Mr. Frames. Peep the HD trailer below, and be prepared for what we’re hoping is the best graffiti-inspired game since Jet Grind Radio on the Dreamcast. The soul still burns!
