Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain Screens

The Nintendo DS has always been the source for portable casual games. Now the DS is getting Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, based on the Fighting Fantasy book series by authors Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson. FF: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is based on the first book of the series, Firetop Mountain Keep.

The game is a first-person fantasy role-playing title that will feature an optimized 3D engine, highly detailed animations, and dynamic lighting, all running on the Nintendo DS hardware. The story of FF: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain follows an adventurer through an old Dwarven keep inside Firetop Mountain. By journeying through the various passages and dungeons, players will develop the character’s abilities to suit individual gameplay styles. Magic and physical attacks are included in the game allowing for a custom combination of skill sets.

To assist the player, items, weapons, armor, and enchantments are equipped through a drag-and-drop inventory system. FF: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain will also include many non-playable characters who will guide the player in assigning quests, trading goods, and provide skill training.

Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain will release during the Holiday season for the Nintendo DS.

Chris began portable gaming with the original Game Boy and Tetris. Forward time a bit and now Chris owns and uses the PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS Lite, and iPod Touch. Most of the love is towards the Touch, but there is a severe anticipation of the PSP Go and what it could do. Chris is a supporter for the Sony brand, but is still waiting for something amazing to bring back his attention. When he's not working for ThePortableGamer, he's usually listening to music or watching movies.
