Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) was a sleeper hit. Those that haven’t tried out this turn based strategy RPG really should go rent this. Those of us anxiously awaiting to get our grubby little hands on just a glimpse of the sequal may rejoice. The Valkyria Chronicles 2 (PSP) demo is out now. The downside, it is all in Japanese. Get that Japanese to English translation book out, or just push buttons and look at the pretty pictures. Either way, hopefully this means an English translated demo is on its way to the states.
The demo can be found here (it’s safe, it is straight from Sega).

Combine Tower Defense with Card Strategy, and what do you get? Bippity Boppity Boo! Oh, wait, no. You get Hudson Entertainment’s Creature Defense for the PSP and PSP Go. We have no clue how fun this game will be, but for $8, it doesn’t have to be TOO perfect. The artwork (below in our fancy schmancy gallery) seems to say that it’ll be pretty to look at, at least. Enjoy!
Today, Famitsu revealed that a new BlazBlue game, tentatively titled BlazBlue Portable, would be coming to the PSP. This comes not long after the release of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, the highly acclaimed 2D Hi-Def fighter for the Xbox 360 and PS3. We have no more confirmed details about the game besides its impending release, although given that the PSP has a big beautiful screen and a control layout perfect for 2D fighters, we expect nothing but quality from the franchise. The title is supposed to be released on February 25, and word on the street (read: Internet) has it that the game will support 4 player ad hoc, although we don’t really have any official information to go by at the moment.
Fast, fun, and frantic gameplay that will appeal even to RPG haters,
and enough satire and snark to make our hearts all atwitter. Review
coming soon, but Half-Minute Hero is worth checking out for sure.
