Persona 3 Portable is hitting on July 6, 2010. You have been warned, so no excuses when you loose hours of your life to this!
Eri Kasamoto Character Specialty: Double the normal quantity of grenades as well as grenade replenishment.
Eri began life as an orphan abandoned on the steps of a church. Once she caught on to the ways of the world, she left the church behind and became leader of a band of street kids. At that time, she was recruited by the Army’s Intel Division who saw promise in her innate ability for combat. After being heavily trained in the art of subversive activities, she became a first-class assassin and saboteur. In the following years, she completed numerous dangerous missions, but ultimately grew tired of doing dirty work, which left her only with a terrible sense of remorse. She requested a transfer to the SOG (Special Operations Group) known as the S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S. Normally, such a request would be ignored by the top brass, but in Eri’s case, they decided to make an exception because of her exceptional service record. She demonstrated unparalleled ability by quelling General Morden’s second coup and was promoted to Staff Sergeant.
Marco Rossi Character Specialty: Doubled handgun power
An Italian-American computer whiz, Marco entered Special Military Engineering college after graduating from an industrial trade school. Once he graduated, he joined a special forces unit known as the Peregrine Falcons. Marco is generally a good-natured man, but the mere mention of General Morden’s name causes Marco to fall into a rage after having lost countless family and friends over the years to the General’s various attacks.
Although he is one of the top combat agents in the special forces unit, Marco has a rather quiet hobby: computer programming. One of his biggest shames is that a computer virus he initially created as a joke ended up infecting the DoD mainframe and nearly caused a nuclear launch. This is a secret that Marco will never share with anyone.
We got a brand spankin new trailer for the new Metal Slug XX from Atlus. It’s hot, it’s sexy, it’s classic gaming goodness on your PSP. This game is looking to be an awesome end for February.
Innovative, two-storyline RPG Hexyz Force is coming to PSP in Spring 2010, thanks to prolific publisher, Atlus. Check out the gorgeous screens below, and the trailer above. More details as they emerge, right here…on TPG.
Oh Atlus how we love thee. You treated us so well in 2009, and now you’re showing us you have more up your sleeve with Metal Slug XX for the PSP. Metal Slug XX takes some colorful cartoony action, slaps on some guns and big explosions, and sends all this love to you on February 23, 2010. This rendition will also include some 2-player action via ad hoc mode. All this fun for $19.99! I’m telling you, 2010 is just starting out with an explosion of awesome games!
It’s not coming out till March, but we can’t help but be excited about this new installment in the Shin Megami Tensei series, in which players apparently travel tot he future, and participate in a true scifi extravaganza. Oh, and there will be demons. Check out the screenies below and start your salivating:
Honestly, we don’t try to write better or with more hilarity here when we know we’re beat. Witness Atlus and their PR genius:
“We’ve finally reached a point where, according to our physicians, any further laughing at our masterfully executed plan of never making enough copies of our games for everyone poses risks to our health,” admitted Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales at Atlus. “In order to prevent illness, and because, hey, sometimes you just want to change things up, we’re very pleased to offer PSP system classics via digital download. It may mean that we’ll have to shut down our numerous online auction accounts, as we won’t be able to hoard large quantities of our hard-to-find games and then slowly trickle them out at obscenely high prices anymore, but the end result will be better for everyone.”
If you prefer action-packed platforming, you’ll love Hammerin’ Hero (LINK). If you’re more into hot-and-heavy mech-on-mech action, then Steambot Chronicles Battle Tournament (LINK) is right up your alley. Crimson Gem Saga (LINK) offers classic RPG fans with an epic adventure laced with interesting characters and witty dialogue. Riviera: The Promised Land (LINK) provides a unique take on the JRPG and an immersive story about a war between gods and demons, while strategy fans are sure to enjoy the deep, rewarding gameplay of Yggdra Union (LINK) and R-Type Command (LINK).
We suppose you could go find the UMDs, if you MUST, but those of us with any PSP sense will go grab the downloads, since they will transfer to a new device *cough* go *cough* once you finally give in to the logic and buy one.
If you’ve forgotten (how could you) about Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble, here is some good news. Atlus today released a whole slew of new screenshots to keep your hunger for all things badass satiated. In Badass Rumble, you will be beating up Banchos, shooting eye beams, trash talking, and presumably kicking enough people in the nuts to warrant your own highlight real on America’s Funniest Home Videos. Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble is hitting a PSP near you on November 10th of this year.
