First, you need to know the basics of crafting ammo in Fallout 4 so you can understand what we’re going to be doing.

To start crafting ammo, head over to the Workshop and select Crafting from the menu. The first tab will be called Ammunition where we can see all our available components and materials.

Next, find the type of ammo you want to make on the right hand side of the screen. The required components for each type of ammunition are listed below the picture so you can easily find what you need by sorting alphabetically or by component name. Select which type of ammo you want to craft by clicking on its icon on the left hand side.

How to craft all types of bullets

As a general rule for crafting ammunition in Fallout 4, you can create any type of ammo that is compatible with your weapon. All you need to do is select the appropriate icon from the right hand side of the screen and then select one of the guns from the left.

If you want to make a custom loadout, it can take a little trial and error to figure out which types of ammo work best in certain circumstances. Different bullet types have different effects – hollow point bullets are better against human targets because they expand upon impact while armor piercing rounds will do more damage against metal and ghoul enemies since they ricochet off hard surfaces. Bullets crafted using lead iridium alloy offer increased damage and energy weapon rounds provide less range but do more damage.
